Information we collect
Depending on how you contact us and which service you request, we may collect:
- your name, telephone number, email address and preferred contact method;
- your address, postcode, service location and access or parking details;
- vehicle information, including make, model, registration number, condition and service requirements;
- photographs or videos of your vehicle, including before-and-after images where relevant;

- messages, enquiries, feedback, reviews and records of our communications;
- marketing preferences and records of consent, objections or opt-outs;
- basic technical information generated when you use our website, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referral source and page activity, where the relevant website tools are enabled.
We do not intentionally collect special-category information. Please avoid sending medical, financial or other sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary for us to provide the service safely.
How we collect your information
We normally receive information directly from you when you:
- call, text, email or message us through WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram;
- submit a Meta lead form, website enquiry form or booking request;
- ask for a quotation, book a service, make a payment or request aftercare;
- leave a review, send feedback or take part in a promotion.
We may also receive limited information from another person acting for you, a referral partner, a social-media platform, or publicly available business information where it is lawful and relevant to an enquiry.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide accurate quotations;
- arrange, confirm, reschedule and deliver valeting, detailing and related services;
- provide add-on services such as paint enhancement, paint correction, ceramic coating, headlight restoration, leather protection and ozone treatment;
- take payment, keep accounting records and deal with refunds or disputes;
- communicate about your booking, arrival time, service requirements and aftercare;
- protect our customers, business, equipment and legal rights;
- improve our services, customer experience and advertising performance;
- send occasional service reminders or offers where you have consented or where the law otherwise permits, always with a clear way to opt out.
We do not sell your personal information.
Our lawful bases
Under UK data-protection law, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:
- Contract
- To take steps at your request before a booking and to provide the service you have booked.
- Legitimate interests
- To run and improve the business, respond to enquiries, maintain suitable records, prevent misuse, recover unpaid sums and communicate with existing customers where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation
- To meet tax, accounting, consumer-protection and other legal requirements.
- Consent
- Where you actively agree to a particular use, such as certain electronic marketing or the use of non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Marketing and service reminders
We may contact you a few months after a service with a relevant maintenance reminder, availability update or offer where you have opted in, or where the electronic-marketing rules allow us to contact an existing customer about similar services.
Every marketing message will identify CRDetailingUK and provide a straightforward way to opt out. You can also opt out at any time by replying STOP
, using an unsubscribe option where provided, or contacting us using the details below. Operational messages about an active quotation or booking are not marketing.
Payments
We accept payment methods including cash and bank transfer. We do not need or ask you to send full online-banking passwords, card PINs or security codes. Banks and payment providers process transaction information under their own privacy terms.
Vehicle photographs and portfolio use
We may take photographs or videos to record a vehicle's condition, document work completed, support quality control or deal with a complaint. Where images can reasonably identify you, your home, registration number or another person, we will minimise or obscure identifying details where practical.
We will not use clearly identifiable customer information in promotional content without an appropriate lawful basis. You can tell us before or during the appointment that you do not want your vehicle used in public portfolio or social-media content.
How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. These measures may include password protection, device security, restricted access, secure account settings, software updates and careful disposal of records.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will assess it and take the steps required by law.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, insurance and dispute-resolution requirements.
- Unsuccessful or inactive enquiries are normally reviewed and deleted or anonymised after 24 months.
- Customer, quotation and booking records are normally kept for up to 6 years after the end of the relevant financial year or customer relationship where needed for tax, contractual or legal reasons.
- Marketing records are kept until you opt out or the information is no longer useful, with suppression details retained where necessary to respect your opt-out.
- Photographs and videos are reviewed periodically and removed when they are no longer needed for operational, evidential or agreed portfolio purposes.
These periods may be shortened or extended where the circumstances or law require it.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase information where there is no lawful reason to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how information is used;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis.
These rights are not absolute, and an exemption may apply. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will normally respond within one month.
Children's information
Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without involvement from a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
Third-party websites and platforms
Our website or social profiles may link to third-party services. Those organisations control their own processing and privacy notices. We are not responsible for how an external website or platform handles information once you leave our services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, suppliers or legal responsibilities change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised update date. Material changes may also be highlighted through an appropriate communication.
